With the 2021 tax season fast approaching it suddenly dawned on me that I had turned 72 in September 2021. I started wondering if Wespath (my retirement account provider) would automatically start my RMD. I didn’t want to incur any tax penalties from the IRS.
I called Wespath and talked to George. He was so helpful. I learned that as long as I was working full time, my RMD would start the year I retire. What a relief!
